Respect our environment
To the editor,
On Sunday, March 28, the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity pledge class was holding a car wash to raise funds for their fraternity. I was astounded to find that the hose was on full force without any type of nozzle to prevent the water from flowing when the students didn't need it. The vast majority of the water coming out of the hose was wasted.
Equally astonishing was the indifference of the participating students.
We live in a water-sensitive climate and must respect that fact. Furthermore, the lack of rain over the last several months has only intensified the situation. As a community, we cannot allow such disrespect for our environment to go unchecked.
