The UA Laxcats face Arizona State tonight at 7 at Wildcat Field in a matchup with serious playoff implications.

The Laxcats head into the game riding a two game winning streak in which they played some of their best lacrosse of the season.

Freshman attackman Matt Green said with the wins came a newfound confidence for the team. The Laxcats have searched for offensive continuity for most of this season.

"When we were losing we played timid sometimes, and we were not playing within ourselves," Green said. "We have to keep playing as a team, making the right passes and taking the right shots at the right times."

Arizona has gotten steady offensive play from senior attackman Dan Price and sophomore midfielder Matt Wilkens. In the latest victories, Arizona has received improved play from Green, junior midfielder Lon Packer and freshman attackman Blane Lochridge.

The game against ASU and an upcoming match against UC-San Diego will make or break UA's season. With two wins the Laxcats not only can enhance their chances to make the playoffs, but can get closer to having home field advantage.

Green said the team is not taking ASU lightly and is focused on having a good game.

"We lose when we play impatiently," he said. "We need to come out focused and play our game."
