Can You Still Feel?
(Elektra)

After the cult power-pop band the Jellyfish disbanded, its various components dispersed across the globe and started their own projects. Roger Manning's Moog Cookbook rearranges rock standards into synthed-up campfests; Jason Falkner, on the other hand, plays it straight. On this, his second solo album, he toys with the Beatlesque harmonies and poseur-poetry lyrics so popular among kids today. He's pretty good at it, too: "Author Unknown" grinds into you with its irresistible guitar hook, while "Holiday" bounces giddily into a chord progression that wouldn't be out of place on A Hard Day's Night. The problem, however, is that there's no reason to listen to Can You Still Feel? when A Hard Day's Night already exists.
