Ex-Wildcat Eafon signs with Raiders
From staff reports
Former UA running back Kelvin Eafon, who led the Wildcats with 16 rushing touchdowns last year, signed a free agent contract with the Oakland Raiders Monday after going unpicked in the weekend's NFL Draft.
Eafon was the third undrafted Wildcat to sign a pro contract, following fullback Paul Shields and wide receiver Jeremy McDaniel, who signed with Indianapolis and Buffalo, respectively.
Last season Eafon rushed for 532 yards on 145 carries as Arizona's short-yardage back. He averaged 3.7 yards per carry and scored the winning touchdown in the Wildcats' victory over Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl.
Four Wildcats were selected in the draft, led by first round pick Chris McAlister with Baltimore. Eafon's signing leaves only former UA defensive tackle Daniel Greer unsigned among the ex-Wildcats expected to step up to the NFL.
