1999 records: men - 7-12 overall, 1-6 Pac-10; women - 7-13, 3-5

Remaining matches: women - NCAA Regionals May 14-16 in Gainesville, Fla.

In an otherwise forgettable season for both Arizona tennis teams, two players managed to stand out from the rest.

Senior Adnan Novo, a native of Bosnia who transferred to UA in 1997 from Pima Community College, started the year as the No. 5-seeded player on the team. He ended it as the No. 1 player, finishing with an 11-10 record. For the women, freshman Lindsay Blau jumped up into the No. 1 spot from time to time during the season, sharing it with senior Monique Allegre.

Still, both teams struggled, though the No. 35-ranked women have advanced to play in the NCAA Regionals. UA, the No. 2 seed, will face Auburn in the opener, hosted by No.1-ranked Florida.
