The 1999 NBA draft will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the MCI Center in Washington D.C., with the Chicago Bulls owning the top pick. Chicago general manager Jerry Krause will most likely choose between Steve Francis of Maryland, Elton Brand of Duke or Lamar Odom of Rhode Island, if he doesn't elect to trade the top pick. However, the Bulls may consider offers and trade it away.

The number two pick belongs to the Vancouver Grizzlies, who had the second overall pick in last year's draft and chose former University of Arizona point guard Mike Bibby.

Another former UA point guard, Jason Terry, will most likely hear his name called early in the draft as he is predicted to go tenth overall to the Golden State Warriors.

The Phoenix Suns own the ninth pick and may select Terry as a backup to Jason Kidd, but they are also looking at high school star Jonathan Bender.

Other players that are expected to hear their names called early are Wally Szczerbiak of Miami (Ohio), Baron Davis of UCLA, Richard Hamilton of Connecticut, Andre Miller of Utah, Corey Maggette of Duke, Ron Artest of St. John's, William Avery of Duke and Jumaine Jones of Georgia.

The other UA player that hopes to hear his name called is A.J. Bramlett, who is projected as a late first round to early second round selection.

The order of the lottery selections is Chicago, Vancouver, Charlotte, L.A. Clippers, Toronto, Minnesota, Washington, Cleveland, Phoenix, Golden State, Cleveland, Toronto and Seattle.
