Job: Attorney

Janet Napolitano is a stronger candidate for attorney general by virtue of her proven, strong track record in championing the rights of the most oft-victimized. Her goals, while realistic, also reflect her compassion for the people she will be serving most closely.

Napolitano has proven leadership experience. While holding office as U.S. attorney for Arizona, she has directed a staff of attorneys, a similar task to that of attorney general. By contrast, her opponent Tom McGovern served as number 3 man in the state attorney generals office.

McGovern has also involved himself in several high-profile conservative cases supporting tax breaks for the wealthy sending their children to private and parochial schools and a ban on late-term abortions.

McGovern has allied himself with political conservatism and fractionalization while Napolitano has tried to focus on her record as an attorney putting criminals behind bars.

She promises to prioritize child abuse cases, strengthen consumer and anti-telemarketing-fraud efforts, and boost intervention for first-time juvenile offenders.

Napolitano, for her experience and for her well-placed vision, is clearly the better choice for the job.
