To the editor,

As members of the pre-veterinary honorary, we were extremely appalled by the opinion and reasoning behind the article about proposition 201.

With the use of sarcasm all over your article, you belittle the importance this proposition holds and failed to use any intellectual reasoning behind your opinion.

In the article you wrote, "...law enforcement agencies have better things to worry about...like sexual assaults, robberies and violent crimes."

This (cockfighting) isn't violent?

Prop 201 is not mutually exclusive with the other agendas for law enforcement. That is like saying, why give out speeding tickets when there are robberies happening?

We are veterinary majors who are not animal activists. We do not ban the killing of animals, just the torturing of them.

The attitude of enjoyment in torturing another living thing is SICK. We should punish this behavior so as not to support or condone the torturing of not only roosters, but all living things.
