Women's golf team in fifth place

The Arizona women's golf team is in fifth place after the first day of the Ohio State/Southern Methodist Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.
Led by junior Jill Gomric's 3 over par 74, the Wildcats finished with a 17 over par 301, tying them with Georgia.
UCLA sits in first place with a 10 over par 294, followed by Arizona State, Texas Christian and Tulsa at 299.
The Golden Hurricanes' Stacy Prammanasudh is the individual leader with a 3 under par 68. Gomric is among seven players tied for 14th.
Other Arizona golfers of note were freshman Cristina Baena (tied for 21st, 4 over par 75), sophomore Christina Monteiro (tied for 21st, 4 over par 75) and junior Jenna Daniels (tied for 34th, 6 over par 77). The tournament continues today and tomorrow.
