Blast From the Past


Film

The following films open in Tucson this weekend:

Blast From The Past - Brendan Fraser stars as a man who grew up in a bomb shelter, only to find the world still kicking when he finally emerges. Alicia Silverstone is the love interest, Christopher Walken is the dad.

Central Station - An award-winning Brazilian film, subtitled in English, about a young boy who loses his mother, and the woman who befriends him and helps him to search for his father.

Message In A Bottle - ItÕs unlikely love, Hollywood style, when Kevin Costner and Robin Wright Penn get together on screen, with Paul Newman thrown in for good measure.

My Favorite Martian - Christopher Lloyd stars as the wacky alien in this Disney remake of the classic TV show, which also features Jeff Daniels and Elizabeth Hurley.

Music

Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys are at Club Congress tonight, with The Fraidy Cats. Doors open at 9, tickets are $6. 21 and over.

La Noche De Amor is CongressÕ ValentineÕs Day event, with DJÕs Hella Strong and Manuelitos, as well as Ache Pa Ti. Tickets are $5.

Greyhound Soul is at The Third Stone tonight, with Honey Child opening up at 9:30.

The Okra Pickles and Soulcracker are at The Third Stone tomorrow, also starting at 9:30 p.m.

Sepultura storms into town Sunday for a very heavy take on ValentineÕs Day celebration. Biohazard, Spineshank and One Minute Silence complete the bill for this all ages show at Club Outback, starting at 7 p.m.
