The UA women's indoor track and field squad swept Arizona State and host Northern Arizona in a tri-meet in Flagstaff on Saturday. The women edged ASU 84-72 and NAU 87-66. The UA men's track team beat NAU 85-71 but succumbed to ASU 79-75.

"We had a good overall meet," UA head coach Dave Murray said. "There were a lot of seasonal and personal bests."

Junior Andrea Neary continued her impressive season in the pole vault competition by improving her personal best vault to 12-feet 4-inches and earning an NCAA provisional qualifying mark on her way to winning the event.

"Andrea vaulted a new school record, and her vault moved her way up the NCAA provisional qualifying list," Murray said.

The Wildcat women also placed well in the running events. Junior Carolyn Jackson won the 400-meters in 54.70 seconds. Junior Nicole Thomas won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.68 and teammate junior Rori Kelly placed third in the event with a time of 8.76. Freshmen Tara Chaplin ran a personal best 10:03.24 in the 3000m on her way to victory.

Another freshmen, Brianna Glenn, placed well in a variety of events. Glenn won the 60m in 7.47 and finished second in the both the long jump and triple jump.

"Brianna Glenn always does so well for us," Murray said. "She been a real workhorse all season."

The Wildcat men once again dominated the pole vault competition. Junior Jeff Dutoit earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and beat his personal record by four inches with a winning vault of 18 feet.

"Dutoit really got a milestone by jumping 18 feet," Murray said. "I always thought he could jump 18 and now it's just a matter of improving upon that."

Freshman Mike Mortensen placed second in the pole vault competition with a vault of 16-5.

Other highlights on the men's side include sophomore Patrick Nduwimana's win in the men's 800m, improving his consecutive win streak in the 800m to three consecutive meets.

The Wildcat men placed first and second in the high jump. Freshman Warren Peters won the event with a jump of 6-9 3/4. Sophomore Keith Varga finished second in the event with the same jump height as Peters, but Varga needed more attempts to clear the height.
