Brothers Gonna Work It Out A DJ Mix Album By The Chemical Brothers (Astralwerks/Freestyle Dust)

Love 'em or hate 'em for it, the Chemical Brothers are responsible for putting the "big" into "big beat." Thanks to these two boys from Manchester, there has been a major explosion of breakbeat music into the mainstream world in the last few years.

Like most electronic artists, though, Tom and Ed got their start as DJs, a job they have far from abandoned. Having just completed a brief DJ tour of the United States, the Chems showed up on the music store shelf again with a new DJ mix CD, the third they've released overall, but the first to come out in the States.

Featured are a number of the Brothers own tracks, including a couple of b-sides, as well as remixed work by such progressive acts as Spiritualized and Manic Street Preachers. The mixing is flawless, with each track blending almost imperceptibly into the next as the boys cut up the beats.

Give it a spin and just try to stay off your feet.
