Want to hear more about the upcoming GOP presidential primary? Presidential candidate John McCain will hold a rally tonight at 9:00 in Bear Down Gymnasium.

The names of over 22,000 Holocaust victims will be recited on the UA Mall during the 8th annual conference on the Holocaust: Memorial Vigil. The 25-hour vigil will include short performances and an opening and closing ceremony. The event begins today at noon. Contact the Hillel foundation at 624-6561 for more information.

Nationally acclaimed cowboy poet Baxter Black will hold a benefit performance tonight at 8:00. The event will be held in Social Sciences Auditorium. Tickets cost $20, with all proceeds benefiting the UA Livestock Judging Team. Separate tickets for a special dinner performance are on sale for $100. For those interested in learning more about the ecological effects of water erosion, Leonard Lane, a research hydraulic engineer at USDA, will hold a seminar addressing the "Hillslope Erosion Model." The one hour seminar, part of the Agriculture and Biosystems Seminar series, will be held today at noon in the Shantz building, Room 440. Contact Dr. Donald Slack at 621-7230 for information.

The 75th Annual La Fiesta de los Vaqueros Tucson Rodeo begins on Feb. 23 and runs through Feb. 27. The Nation's largest outdoor winter rodeo will incorporate rodeo clowns, rodeo education programs and precision riding teams. The Tucson Rodeo Parade, the largest non-motorized parade in the world, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. The rodeo will be held at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds. The UA African American Student Affairs and the MLK Millennium Celebration Committee will hold a discussion with Attorney John Burris. As one of the most esteemed civil rights attorneys, Burris will present his view of police/black confrontations, most notably those during the Rodney King-LA police department case. Burris, author of "Blue vs. Black," will also hold a book signing immediately following the presentation. The event will be held in the MLK Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24. Tickets for the UA Hawaii Club Luau will be on sale Feb. 23 and 24 in front of the Nugent building. The luau will take place on Mar. 25 at the Memorial Student Union, Arizona Ballroom. There will be entertainment that will feature songs, dances and tastes of the island. The luau will also include an all you can eat buffet.

On Saturday at 10 a.m. the Arizona State Museum will host the Southwest Indian Art Fair 2000. The six hour event will showcase the work of over 100 artists from 21 cultural groups. Jewelry, textiles, kachina dolls, will be a few of the works on display for the public. Tickets are $2 for adults, children under 18 are free, Call Dawn Cromwell at 621-4523 for more information.
