Coming into today's match, the women's tennis team refuses to change their attitude during their toughest stretch of the season.

With the format of practices remaining the same, and head coach Brad Dancer still rotating the lineup, No. 26 Arizona (6-5, overall, 1-5 in Pacific 10 Conference) is eager to greet No. 41 Marquette (8-3, 1-0).

"We're all improving and are capable of beating everyone," sophomore Joanna Buczkowska said.

With the last three losses coming to teams in the top 10, the squad isn't discouraged.

"We fought our hardest," Buczkowska said. "No one was really disappointed."

The Golden Eagles will face their ninth consecutive ranked opponent and are on a three-match winning streak. Marquette scored 6-3 wins in matches against Texas-El Paso, Houston and Colorado.

Occupying the No. 1 position tomorrow for Marquette will likely be No. 77 senior Sara Fernandez. Boasting a 20-5 record, Fernandez has won her last five matches.

Diversity is also a major characteristic of the Marquette team - with five out of the seven women from international countries.

Along with Fernandez, junior Laura Garcia and senior Elisa Penalvo are also from Spain. Continuing with the overseas theme, senior Julia Sapozhnikova is from Minsk, Belarus, and freshman Alexandra Stankovic is from Sollentuna, Sweden.

After the big weekend against the nation's top two teams - Stanford and California - the Wildcats aren't taking the Golden Eagles lightly.

"Marquette is great, and we want to keep improving," Dancer said.

The match begins at 1:30 p.m. at Robson Tennis Center.

Due to yesterday's weather, the men's match against Marquette was postponed and has been rescheduled to start at 1:30 as well. The two matches will run simultaneously, as the women will begin with singles play and the men will start doubles.
