The UA women's soccer team heads north this weekend for a neutral field contest as they will battle with a tough University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee team in Provo, Utah.

"They are a tough, blue-collar team," UA head coach Lisa Fraser said. "It will be a great battle."

The Wildcats are no strangers to hard fought games and will be looking to capitalize on last weekend's rugged one goal victory over the University of New Mexico.

UA will face a red hot Panthers team which is currently 2-1-0 and riding the heals of a two game winning streak. UW-Milwaukee played Brigham Young University Thursday night in Provo and should be ready for the Wildcats come Saturday.

"It's really gonna come down to heart," junior forward Chrissy Sanford said, "Who really want this game more."

The Panthers are led by junior forward Stefanie Hosni, freshman midfielder Amy Oechsner and sophomore midfielder Julie Ruma, who are all tied for the UW-Milwaukee scoring lead with one goal and one assist each.

Protecting the net for the Panthers will be senior goalie Liz Ulicki and her stellar 1.33 goals against average. Ulicki has 11 saves and one shutout so far this season.

"I have a really positive outlook on this game, and I think I speak for the team when I say this," said McGehee, "we really expect to win this game."

Shooting for the victory, the UA will counter the Panthers attack with the scoring duo of Sanford and sophomore midfielder Tiffany Sabado.

Sanford leads the Wildcats in scoring with four goals and an assist for nine points, and Sabado has chipped in with three goals and an assist for seven points.

"Our team is working really hard," said McGehee of the team's practices this week in anticipation for the upcoming weekend.

The Wildcats are looking to spread the offense around and get more players involved in scoring this weekend.

"We hope to look to our midfield to put some in," Fraser said.

Tending the net for UA will be either junior Inger Airheart or sophomore Shannon Monti. "We don't know who will play yet," Fraser said. "Both goalkeepers have been strong so far in this young season and will continue to battle for playing time."

UA's only other meeting with the Panthers was back in 1994 when the Wildcats lost in overtime 3-2.

The Wildcats aren't finished after Saturday's game as they will stay in Provo and take on the host school, BYU, on Monday.
