UA football coach arrested for domestic violence
Arizona Summer Wildcat No physical altercation took place, both charges are UA coordinator of football operations Marc Lunsford was arrested Saturday morning on domestic violence and disorderly conduct charges at his home following a fight with his wife, sheriff's deputies said. It was the third time in the last two years that Lunsford has been arrested, including an arrest for domestic violence in March 1999. At about 2 a.m., the Pima Sheriff's Department responded to a call from a neighbor reporting fighting at the end of the cul-de-sac of West Calle Lucinda, Sgt. Bob Leon said. While there was no physical altercation, Lunsford broke a window during the argument, Leon said. Lunsford was charged with domestic violence/criminal damage and disorderly conduct and was released on his own recognizance later that day. University of Arizona Athletic Director Jim Livengood and head football coach Dick Tomey could not be reached for comment yesterday.
