Utah win spotlights UA students
[news]
Two University of Arizona student researchers recently attended a prominent aerospace conference in Utah where they competed against some of the brightest minds in their field.

Win leaves UA with little joy
[news]
One can mark Saturday's football game between Arizona and Middle Tennessee State as two games in one. In the first game, No. 19 Arizona (2-1) won 34-0 behind a punishing rushing attack. This first game lasted 45 minutes, 5 seconds. The second game, lasting 14:55, saw the Blue Raiders (0-2) clobber the Wildcats 19-0.

Crack and the CIA
[news] Donna Warren, South Central Los Angeles resident and mother of deceased crack addict, Joey Warren, is one of two plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit that names the CIA and the Department of Justice as the primary defendants. The CIA is being sued on the grounds that the 1980s crack epidemic was rooted in a specific, identifiable cause: the actions of the CIA in the Iran-Contra affair. Sound ridiculous? Perhaps. But, it reflects the best part of our court system.

A Different World
[news] In next April's issue of the University of Utah's "Quarterly West," a literary journal that features poetry, prose and fiction, UA students will be able to find a short work of fiction titled "The Retard of Lard Hill," written by English professor Patrick Finn. Finn is currently a professor of English at the UA and a second year grad student in the master of fine arts creative writing program, concentrating on short fiction.
