Need to find a better way to get to campus? The Sun Tran is offering all Tucson citizens a free ride today to wherever you want to go. Labeled "Try Transit Week," the program is designed to open the eyes of prospective users about the benefits of using Tucson's mass transit. Free passes are only good today, so don't try to scam one tomorrow. Call Sun Tran at 792-9222 to get the bus route schedules and to answer any questions you may have.

Gallagher Theatre Series presents "Notting Hill" tonight for two showings, 7 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. This is a great chance to get out of the homestead for a few hours. Take a break from your studying and see Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant in their latest starring roles. Showing throughout the nation to critical acclaim, it now makes its rounds to the UA tonight. The picture costs $2.50 and shows in the new temporary Gallagher Theatre, Social Sciences 100.

Ever been interested in becoming a biology major? Here is your chance to pounce on that feeling. The biology faculty are holding a bash on the Patio, on the north side of Bio Sciences West, designed to meet and greet all new and potential biology majors. Faculty members as well as current students enrolled in the program will be on hand to answer all of your questions. Food and fun will be had, so stop by after 3 p.m. and before 5 p.m. Staff on hand will help get you involved in department clubs and research projects. Tell your kids you were there when they began tearing down the old Memorial Student Union and began building the new one. The UA administration is having a party for just that occasion today on the UA mall from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Demolition begins today and what better reason to throw a party than big machines ready to break stuff. Various refreshments and food will be available at the booths along with games and musical accompaniment. Drop Libby Stone a line at 621-3316 if you need further information.

Music on the UA Mall continues today as Shaking Tree will play on the main stage from noon until 1 p.m. Sponsored by Eat to the Beat, Shaking Tree is ready to bring the noise to the Mall to make your lunch hour that much more enjoyable. William Guth can answer any questions you have at 621-1111.
