A couple wins and ö well we wonât go there ö behind them and the Wildcats Pac-10 play begins. The injured bench is emptying onto the field and I predict a healthy, ready-to-go offensive and defensive team will greet the Cardinal for victory. Arizona 31, Stanford 24 Colorado State may have taken the trophy home in the in-state rivalry match-up against Colorado, but this week theyâll be ãrammingä head first into a tough BYU defense. The Cougars and their chanting community will take the W. BYU 28, Colorado State 17 Arrington proved last week heâs got the hops to knock out Pittâs chance of winning by rerouting a last minute field goal attempt, and this week heâll prove he has what it takes to leap past the Hurricaneâs defense. Penn State 31, Miami 7 The Spartans are good, and itâll be close. But at South Bend and after a hard fought loss the last two weeks, the Irish will be fightinâ. Mark this one to Jackson and his boys as they moonwalk to the end zone. Notre Dame 24, Michigan State 21 Florida just keeps getting better, and now the real season begins. Johnson and Taylor got the passing game down last weekend, and I think theyâll carry it through proving they donât need any volunteer defeats here for this win. Florida 35, Tennessee 31

Everyone seems to be worried about this game. The Cardinal is as schizophrenic as they come, losing by 52 to Texas and beating Washington State by 37. If UA can get a pass rush going, this one ends early. Arizona 31, Stanford 14 The Mountain West actually opens with a marquee matchup. The Rams are overrated after beating Colorado. Logic says donât pick against CSU twice, but... not in Provo. BYU 28, Colorado State 24 The Lions looked mortal last week. This week they put the stinking Big East back in its place. LaVar pounds the meager Hurricane into the ground. Penn State 35, Miami 10 The Spartans smell upset. The Irish seem to be havinga wee bit too many problems managing the clock. Notre Dame falls to 0-2 vs. the state of Michigan. Michigan State 21, Notre Dame 17 Martin and company are crying for respect, even though they won it all last year. The Gators have been giving up too many points, but itâs all because theyâre so focused on this game. Revenge is a dish best served... humid. Florida 34, Tennessee 28

With the lackluster defense Arizona has displayed of late, Stanford could put Chelsea Clinton at RB and Kelvin Hunter still wouldnât tackle her. The Cardinal will embarrass the Wildcats and finally UA fans will see the light: Hire Terry Bowden. Stanford 35, Arizona 28 BYU quarterback Kevin Feterik will have a breakout game by passing for 600 yards en route to a Ram annihilation. At last an Orange County, Calif. player will receive national attention as Feterik will be added to ãHeisman Watch Î99.ä BYU 63, Colorado State 3 The Nittany Lions will mimic their UA intramural sister-squad, the Nittie Jimmies, by delivering Miami a crushing shutout. A Hurricane offense sorely missing Edgerrin James will learn why Lavar Arrington is the most dominant force in college football today. Penn State 32, Miami 0 This should be a conference matchup, but Notre Dame is too pansy to join the Big 10. Because the Irish still remain independent and we are forced to watch all their pathetic games on NBC, the Spartans will win big. Michigan State 34, Notre Dame 13 Tee Martin and the Vols are too much for Steve Spurierâs Gators to swallow. Once again, the boys from Gainesville will have their national title hopes dashed early in the season in a game that should be the SEC championship. Tennessee 35, Florida 17

Stanford QB Todd Husak has the peripheral vision of Tori Spelling and the passing prowess of Ian Ziehring but only Peter North scores more than these two teams. UA 55, Stanford 35 Ordinarily, Iâd be saying something derogatory about BYU in this space, but Iâll temper myself this time and realize that they are the superior team against CSU. BYU 35, CSU 24 Bet against the city that produced Don Johnson and Miami Vice? Forget about it! Miami 24, Penn State 17 A classic battle of good (Notre Dame) verses evil (Michigan State)- like Autobots vs. Decepticons, Backstreet vs. NâSync or Penthouse vs. ãBetter Homes and Gardens.ä Notre Dame 30, Michigan State 20 Concessions at the game include moonpies, grits and KFC. Florida 35, Tennessee 27
