Graduate students are all invited to a social at Geronimoz' Restaurant & Bar tonight from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sponsored by the Graduate Student Council (GPSC), grad students will have the opportunity to socialize with other graduate students, and get free food in the process. So, feel free to show up to Geronimoz' at 5 p.m.
Wildcat sports kicks into full gear this weekend with action in football, soccer and volleyball. Football takes on Stanford Saturday at 7 p.m. at Arizona Stadium. Volleyball takes on the Oregon Ducks today at 7 p.m. in McKale, their second match-up against a Pacific-10 opponent. UA volleyball opened division play last night against Oregon State. Soccer looks to take on the Bears of Baylor at 7 p.m. tonight at Murphey Stadium as well. The volleyball and soccer matches are free to students, with the football game costing a cool $5 to ID card bearing people. For those left without a Catcard, call the McKale Center at 621-2287 for your advance ticket orders.
Paying for the new student union begins tomorrow. A kickoff party for the fundraising on the new UA Memorial Student Union and Bookstore is today on the UA Mall in front of the current student union. Everyone is invited to show up and learn how we are going to pay for the newest addition to our campus. The Iranian Students Association is meeting for the second time ever this afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Civil Engineering building room 201. This is your chance to meet with your fellow Iranian students and be in on the ground floor of their new organization.
Monks chanting never sounded so good. The sounds of the Drikung Kagyu monks come to town Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Social Sciences 100. The presentation is titled "Mystical Music and Dance of Tibet." Check out various chanting, and sacred dances of the Tibetan people. Tickets are only available at the door, and run $15 for general admission and $7 for UA students and senior citizens.
