Feel that the standard political parties have left you behind and no longer represent your interests? The Libertarian Students are holding a meeting tonight from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are ready to listen to you. The topics for the meeting are current issues on the political and international level. Everyone is welcome. The club also plans on working on a booth for the UA Mall later this year. The meeting will be in the Memorial Student Union's Catalina Room just west of McDonalds on the top floor. Give Robert Peters a call at 797-2010 if you would like more information.

Save the Planet! Today on the UA Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., UA Residence Life will be doing their best to save the planet by running a Recycling Day. They will be taking in all kinds of recyclable items. Located in front of the U of A Bookstore, they are ready to take your trash and make something of it.

The American Indian Studies Department is holding a reception tonight for their honored guests, Dr. Luci Tapahonso and Dr. Bob Martin. The program begins at 4 p.m. and will last approximately two hours. Stop by the Arizona State Museum, on East University Boulevard, to meet the two newest American Indian Studies faculty members. Tapahonso, a Navajo, is new to the UA and will begin teaching graduate courses in English and American Indian Studies this spring. She formerly taught at the University of New Mexico and Kansas University. Tapahonso is widely considered to be a benchmark in the area of poetry and creative writing. Martin is coming off a term as the president of the Haskell Indian Nations University, where he served since 1989. Martin will be an instructor in American Indian Studies. Joseph Stauss, the director of American Indian Studies at the UA, can give you answers to any of your questions. Call him at 621-7108 for more information.

There are always lectures and colloquiums around the UA, and this evening is no different. One colloquium is taking place at the Steward Observatory this afternoon at 4 p.m. titled "The Last Rites of Binary Star Evolution." Given by Dr. Joe Patterson, these types of activities are great ice breakers in getting to know your professors, as well as gaining valuable knowledge. It takes place in Steward Observatory's lecture hall room N210.

Despite Gallagher Theatre's demise in the Memorial Student Union, the dream lives on. The Social Sciences version continues tonight as Brendan Fraser and company star in "The Mummy." Not content in roles like "Encino Man," Fraser moves on to the starring role in this action flick. "The Mummy" takes place tonight at 7 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. in the auditorium of the Social Sciences building, room 100. Tickets will run students $2.50. Make sure you arrive early.
