Have a little amateur astronomer in you? Well the Steward Observatory is here to help bring him or her out with "Supermassive Black Holes and Quasars: How STIS and Gemini Will Change Our Ideas." Given by Richard Green tonight at 7:30, the lecture gives you an opportunity to converse with the leaders in the field of astronomy, and to view the night sky with the 21-inch telescope after the one hour lecture. Green is currently serving as the director of the Kitt Peak National Observatory, one of the premiere astronomy sites in the country, which just happens to be located north of Tucson. The lecture takes place in the Steward Observatory, room N210. Find out all you need to know about blackholes and quasars by attending, or you can call Thomas Fleming at 621-5049, who is standing by waiting to answer your questions.

The campus can be pretty creepy at night. Despite all of the phone boxes and the ASUA Escort Service, there are still elements on campus that can make anyone a little skittish at night. That is why there is a presentation of "Staying Safe on Campus," tonight at 6 in the basement of Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall. If you wish to attend, call Anastasia Ching at 621-0764 or swing by the front entrance to Kaibab, which is located at 922 E. 4th St., just to the north of the Park Student Union. Attendees can also learn about future events being presented on the behalf of Education by Example.
