In a 20-minute ASUA meeting last night, the senators approved the dates for next year's elections.

The primary elections will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 29, and Wednesday, March 1.

The general elections will take place the following week on Wednesday, March 7, and Thursday, March 8.

According to Gloria Montano, Associated Students of the University of Arizona elections commissioner, the initial dates conflicted with the elections set by the Pima County Elections Division.

The senate has also made attempts to increase student participation in the voting process.

"The most notable addition is the on-line voting," said senator Ryan Roa. "This should make it easier for students to vote."

In a statement presented to the senate, Montano stated that the voting will be held through Student Link. This, according to Montano, will help maintain student security.

ASUA will provide both physical and on-line voting for students.

In other ASUA news, the senate approved the allocation of $1,169.90 in initial funding for six campus organizations.
