Activities are taking place all day on the UA Mall, with the Rock and Roll Bowl taking center stage. Starting at 10 a.m., this UAB-sponsored event has all the free give-aways you can imagine. The grand prize of the afternoon is a new Ford car. How do you win the car, you ask? Well, they won't say, so you'll just have to show up and find out. It is all taking place on the UA Mall in front of the remains of the student union. Booths and games galore will be available, so venture over and check out what's cooking on the Mall today. The bowl will last until 4 p.m.

Football of two kinds is kicking into high gear this weekend. Women's soccer takes on the Stanford Cardinal at Murphey Stadium tonight at 7 p.m. Murphey Stadium is located south of campus on 15th Street and Plumer. Watch Chrissy Sanford tear apart the Cardinal defense as the Wildcats attempt to win one over a Pac-10 foe. Football attempts to continue the season turnaround with a match against the University of Texas-El Paso Miners. Currently holding a 3-3 record, the Miners look to halt the Wildcats' march back into the top 25. After last week's defeat of USC, the Wildcats worked their way to No. 27 in the Associated Press poll. Kickoff time is 7:05 p.m. Tickets can be obtained by calling 621-2287.
