SAS protests UA corporate ties (photo)

Students Against Sweatshops members hold a demonstration at the UA Main Gate yesterday afternoon. They had students walk through a "corporate zone" to make a statement about the university's relationships with major corporations, including Nike. SAS members also criticized companies such as Gap and Wal-Mart for subjecting their workers to sweatshop conditions. Fliers distributed encouraged students to call David Glass and Philip Knight, the CEOs of Wal-Mart and Nike, respectively.
