Think that monster called the job search will eat you alive? Relax, there is an easier way to find yourself a job, and we don't mean moving back in with your parents. Now that you are close to graduation, attending the Job Search Strategies Workshop would be in your best interests. Designed to help you focus on exactly how to find yourself a prime paying position at the company of your choice, the workshop starts at 5 p.m. in Gould Simpson room 701. Career Services will be the host, and those with questions should direct them to Career Services at 621-2588. The workshop should last around one hour, and at the end you should have enough tips to get your self a solid job.
Think you have tennis skills like no other? Prove yourself on the courts when you enter the Intramural Sports Tennis Doubles competition. Mens, womens, and co-ed teams are welcome, with the price of team entries being just $14. Entries will be accepted by the Intramural Sports office, which is located upstairs in the UA Recreation Center, until Nov. 4. The office is open weekdays from noon until 6 p.m. Call Brian Jacoby, who is the intramural sports leader, at 621-8723 if you have any questions about tennis, or any other intramural sports.
The title alone should make you want to attend this lecture. "What Have Comets Done for Us Recently" shows tonight at 7:30. Steward Observatory's Public Evening Series takes a turn around the sun in this presentation. The lecture, which is being given by Humberto Campins, should last around one hour. Immediately following the presentation the 21-inch telescope located in the Campus Station of the Observatory will be open to all attendees. The lecture takes place in room N210, and you can contact Thomas Fleming at 621-5049 if you have any questions.
Think you need a little plant life to spice up your home or work environment? The Boyce Thompson Arboretum's annual fall plant sale will be going on all week in the Boyce Thompson Arboretum from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plants of the arid land variety will be available, thousands to be exact. In the Arboretum's Demonstration Garden, hands will be around to answer any questions you may have about desert plant life.
