Talk about this story

Think you are the best of the best when it comes to flag football? Then your place to shine is here. The Arizona State Flag Football Championships take place right here on our very own campus. Entry fees for this event are only $50, and sign-ups are all this week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Intramural Sports office. Can't find the Intramural office? It just happens to be located upstairs in the UA Student Recreation Center. Need more info than what's been provided? Brian Jacoby is the man of the hour, and he can be reached at 621-8723.

The highest court in all of Arizona is in town to listen to oral arguments, and anyone can listen in. Three separate cases will be presented in front of the justices of the Arizona Supreme Court. This is the only opportunity for the Supreme Court justices to question the lawyers about the logistics of the specific case. The lawyers are allotted a certain amount of time and must battle their case in that window. The appeals process kicks off at 1:30 p.m. Afterwards there will be a rare opportunity for students to meet and greet with the Supreme Court justices. The entire event takes place in the James E. Rogers College of Law, located on East Speedway Boulevard and North Mountain Avenue. Vicki Bren Fleischer can answer any questions you may have if you call her at 621-8430

Dr. Bruce M. Coull, the head of the Department of Neurology, is giving a community lecture on the topics of the history and future of strokes. Titled "Stroke in the New Millennium: Where We've Been and Where We're Going," Dr. Coull plans to speak for one hour and 15 minutes, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The presentation starts at the Arizona Health Sciences Center in the DuVal Auditorium, and Mary Cox is ready to answer any of your faculty lecture queries at 621-3513.

Basketball season is here and everyone can rejoice. Disappointing football memories can all disappear into the background with the red-blue scrimmage kicking off the UA basketball season tonight at 7 p.m. in the McKale Center. Lute Olson will be on hand afterwards to speak about the upcoming season. Pregame tailgating activities include a three-point shooting contest and all kinds of free stuff from KFMA 92.1. All tickets cost $3, with seats going on first come-first serve basis, so showing up early is a good thing.

The destruction of the UA Memorial Student Union is making news on campus, and Termite TV is here to find out the story. The award-winning documentary series comes to town for the next several days to find out all about the UA community. Termite TV is looking for members of the Tucson community who are willing to comment for their ongoing Life Series documentary. They will be interviewing from 11-11:50 a.m. in Harvill 104. Give Michael Mulcahy a call at 621-1155 if you have any additional questions.
