The UA today will welcome alumni with two class reunions and several other activities as Homecoming weekend begins.

The class of 1954 is having their 45-year reunion and has invited the classes of '53 and '55 to attend. The event is being held at the Double Tree Resort and begins at 8:30 p.m.

"The class of 1954 has also invited '53 and '55 because they went to school with them, and they thought it would be nice," said Michelle Outlaw, program coordinator for the alumni office.

The second of the reunions is for the graduating class of 1959 celebrating 40 years since the end of their Wildcat days. The reunion will be held in the Rincon Room of the Memorial Student Union.

Both reunions are funded by the Alumni Association.

Other events for alumni include the Emeritus Club Luncheon in the Senior Ballroom of the Memorial Student Union at 11:30 today.

Following that is the Bear Down Bash at Bear Down Gymnasium at 5:30 this afternoon. Around 6,000 to 10,000 are expected to attend homecoming activities.

"It's those few precious hours of reminiscing with old friends, even with people you may not have known when you were here as a student, because you all share a common bond and heritage - of belonging to this place forever," stated the University of Arizona Alumni Association Web page.
