A historical look at the millennium is taking place this afternoon at the Center for Creative Photography. "Creative Tremors of the Millennium" is the lecture being given by Heiko Oberman, a regents professor of history at the UA. The lecture will last for 35 minutes and will kick off at 12:15 p.m. Oberman, who is also the director of Late Medieval and Reformation Studies, is part of the Building Academic Community Series presented by the UA. The big guns of business will be talking to Tucson today for the Worldwide Lessons in Leadership Teleconference taking place all morning. The conference, which starts at 8:45 a.m., showcases some of the world's top CEOs' ideas and thoughts about leadership, which is being presented by the UA. Speakers will be shown at 200 locations throughout the world. Expected speakers are Ted Turner, the founder of CNN and Steve Case, the founder of America Online. The doors open for the event at 7:45 a.m. with the first activities starting an hour later. Reservations are required, so call 1-800-689-9771 to claim your spot. The conference is taking place at the Tucson Convention Center, which is located at North Church Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard.

We all could use a little music on the Mall to make our lunch hour go by a little faster. Well, University Activities Board is one step ahead of you with their Eat to the Beat concert series. Today's artist is Scott Huckabay, who will play for one hour beginning at noon. Want to know more about Huckabay? William Guth at 621-1111 has information about all the artists that are a part of the UAB series.

Want to learn how to take more advantage of your Macintosh computer? Tucson Macintosh Users group is meeting tonight at 6 in room 8403 of the University Medical Center. New users are welcome to come and take part in the question- and-answer session. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. There was a time when the West was truly wild, when alcohol did not pour freely and that time was during Prohibition. Frontier activists weren't quite sure what to do with themselves, once this occurred, and crime skyrocketed. The Arizona Historical Society is covering this time tonight with "Arizona Crime During the Dry Years and Prohibition on Arizona Border Communities." Christina Rabe Seger gives the lowdown on what was really going on in this turmoil-filled period. The lecture starts at 7 p.m. with the speech ending after two hours.
