Talk about this story

Even though most of us are off for the weekend, UA sports continues to trudge on. Volleyball is taking part in the Plaza Hotel Thanksgiving Classic. Action takes place Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday morning at 10:45 with the Wildcats taking on Hawaii, Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, and Texas-El Paso. Tickets can be picked up by calling the McKale Center at 621-2287 or by stopping by. All students get in free with their valid student ID card. Some quality volleyball will be played as teams close out their seasons.

Women's basketball will also be playing Saturday night at 7 in McKale. They will be taking on the New Mexico Lobos in a game with bragging rights on the line.

Men's basketball is also in action, although they aren't in town. The Wildcats look to dominate the big apple kicking off with a game against Notre Dame and culminating in a Friday showdown in the consolidation game if UA loses, and the championship game if they win. Wednesday's game starts at 4 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN. Cheer on the basketball team as they take Madison Square Garden by storm.

Will you be in Phoenix this weekend? Here is your chance to show your school colors in the enemies home land. UA takes ASU on in the rivalry football game to determine who is going to a Hawaii bowl game in December, and who is going to stay at home and gloat about their dismal season. If you're not in Phoenix, catch the game nationally on ABC Saturday at 11 a.m. Tickets can be picked up today at the McKale Ticket Office, or call 621-CATS.

Turkey day is here, and it is time for all of us to take some time of right before the storm of finals hits us like a hurricane. Being and official holiday, all of the buildings and areas associated with the UA will be closed for business tomorrow and Friday.

Attention mathematics grad students. Scott Clark from the UA mathematics department is holding a graduate student colloquium today at noon. The meeting is being held in the Math building room 402. Why should you attend? Clark plans to have an in-depth discussion of the Triangle Peg game, and talk at length about the history and the role of mathematics involved in the game itself. He also plans on having some other interesting math toys on hand for your amusement.
