Nebraska trafficking in human life
To the editor, I am writing about Colin McCullough's article regarding the University of Nebraska's use of aborted fetuses in medical/genetic research. When I was a biology major at the UA, I learned that the fetus is a genetically separate human being. When my roommate's best friend suffered an abortion at the hands of Planned Parenthood (who did no post-operative care), I changed my view from pro-choice to pro-life. In the intervening decades, I have become the mother of six wonderful, miraculous, unique human beings. My eldest, soon to be 17, considers himself one of the "lucky ones" to survive the pro-abortion propaganda. Decisions, such as the one made by the University of Nebraska, serve to legitimize the underground market for dead human beings. In my opinion, this is tantamount to legitimizing the "harvesting" of human beings that the doctors at the concentration camps during World War II did to the innocent Jews, who were declared nonpersons and therefore open to exploitation in "medical research." Dr. Frankenstein is alive and well. In closing, I wish to quote the author-scientist, Michael Crichton, "Just because we can do something, doesn't mean we should."
