Talk about this story

There are plenty of opportunities for you to give during the holiday season. The Arizona Cancer Center food drive starts today. They are looking for donations to give to the Tucson Community Food Bank. This drive will continue until Christmas Eve. Just bring all your non-perishables to the Cancer Center, and drop them in the green bin on the first floor.

The Navy ROTC is having a Toys For Tots raffle all this week. Prizes are a mountain bike, TV, VCR and car stereo unit. All proceeds will be used to buy toys for homeless children. Look for their booth on the UA Mall all week. The U of A Bookstore is also getting into the act. They are taking donations to benefit local food banks for the holidays. Donation sites are at the U of A Bookstore, the Park Student Union bookstore and McKale Sports Stop. They will be collecting until the last day of finals, Dec. 18, during store hours. Call Beth Bujarski at 621-8475 if you have questions about this collection. Help the less fortunate in Tucson and make a donation today. Every little bit can help someone else have a good holiday season.

Want to see some top-notch entertainment this evening? "The Killington's," fresh off their tour with "Reel Big Fish" swing into town and are playing at the Park Student Union. "The Killington's," whose home town is Long Beach, Calif., take the stage at 6 p.m. UAB's Rising Star Entertainment is responsible for bringing them to town for this free show. The music performance should last an hour, so take some time away from studying for finals and have a little release with music. Those with questions about this band should call Patrick Boyle of UAB's Rising Star at 621-5779.

Women's basketball looks to continue their winning streak today as they take on the Colorado State Rams at the McKale Center. Five straight wins have the Wildcats headed on the right track, and has earned them a No. 21 ranking in the polls. Colorado State, with a 5-1 record, hopes tonight's match-up has the same result as last year's 80-70 Ram victory. Tip off time is 7 p.m. and all women's basketball games are free to students with a CatCard. Otherwise tickets can be had by stopping by the McKale ticket office or calling 621-2287. Tickets run $3 for seniors and youth and $5 for everyone else.
