More than 900 people will travel from countries as far away as Australia to attend the 32nd annual Symposium on Racing and Gaming this week, but some local graduating seniors could be the ones taking the most interest.

The conference, organized by the UA's Race Track Industry Program, serves many purposes, but most importantly it helps students in the program meet people from all over the world and network to find a job, said Steve Barham, associate coordinator of the program. [Read article]

Junior improving by leaps and bounds in new role as power forward

What a difference a year has made for Linda Pace.

Last season, she was a bench warmer for the Arizona women's basketball team, playing sparingly as a guard out of the regular rotation and making little impact on the game's outcome.

Now the 5-foot-9 junior is starting at power forward.

"It's been a big adjustment getting into a new role, being much more of a contributor to the team," she said. "Having to adjust to that is still a lot more comfortable out there on the court." [Read article]

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) was saved from overthrow by a compromise at the World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis Nov. 16 to Nov. 18.

ICANN is a California-based nonprofit organization set up by the U.S. Department of Commerce in the late 1990s to manage a master list of registered domain names and oversee disputes.
