Mmmmm... CAKE was goooood.

CAKE baked their way into Club Congress on Wednesday night to promote their new album "Fashion Nugget". The show was '21-an older' leaving many younger CAKE fans like Erin Corcoran of Pima Community College unable to attend the concert.

However, a 'meet and greet' for all the disillusioned underage fans was provided by 92.1 KFMA and hosted by DJ Suzy Dunn. Fans had a chance to spin the KFMA prize wheel to win CAKE merchandise and have it signed by the band. (I didn't do well on the prize wheel, but I did know that Suzy's dog's nickname was "Mr. Bobo", so she gave me a CD.)

CAKE quickly dispelled any one-hit-wonder connotations by giving a solid performance. Although their recent popularity has certainly been fueled by their single "The Distance", CAKE is one of the few bands where the album is as strong as their hit single. After performing "The Distance", lead singer John McCrea joked ,
