An 18-year-old UA student was arrested and charged Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana in Maricopa Residence Hall.

Lakeya R. Basilom, a Maricopa resident, was arrested when police found her walking out of her room. Police said they immediately noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana coming from the room. Basilom allowed police into her room and turned over one marijuana cigarette.

Basilom was cited and released.

A UA professor reported his computer system was stolen from the Mines/Geology building between 5 p.m. on Nov. 23 and 8 a.m. Monday. The professor said his Tower Corporation central processing unit worth $5,385 and his 17 inch color monitor worth $997 were missing. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing else was missing.

Police have no suspects.

A UA student reported his "Sharks" Starter jacket was stolen Monday night from the volleyball courts near East Seventh Street and North Vine Avenue.

The victim said he and friends were playing volleyball shortly before 9 p.m. when he noticed two grabhis jacket, which was nearby at the base of a light post, and drove away with a third man in a car.

All three males were described as Hispanic teens. One was described wearing a white "Bum Equipment" sweater. The victim thinks another one of the men called him "Freddy." Another suspect was described wearing a flannel shirt and baggy grey pants. The third man was described wearing olive-colored khakis and a moustache. No description of the vehicle was available.
