In a season of many firsts, Arizona women's soccer coach Lisa Fraser will prepare her team for its first rematch this weekend.
The Wildcats (2-10) face Texas Tech (8-3-1) today at 2 p.m. and Nebraska (12-4) at noon Sunday in their season finale.
Arizona meets Nebraska for the second time this season. The two teams previously met in the Wildcats' second game of the year, a 2-1 loss in Missoula, Mont.
"Nebraska's doing well," Fraser said. "They play a real fast, hard-paced kick-and-run style of ball. So it's very different from other teams we've played. It forces us to win balls in the air and get more physical."
The team was swept last weekend in Austin, Texas, the last road trip of the season. Fraser was disappointed, but is hopeful that her squad will be motivated enough to end the season on the upswing.
"We're just trying to stay focused on the things we need to do well," Fraser said. "We played really well the weekend before and I don't think we stayed real focused on what got us there so we're trying to get back to that.
"It's hard to believe we are closing in on the end of our first season. It has been a learning experience, to say the least. The team has learned what it takes to play at this level. Hopefully we can end on a positive note, on our home field, and go out with a bang this weekend."
