A UA football player was arrested Monday after he reportedly tried to remove a boot from his car and punched a parking meter.

Police are seeking charges of criminal damage and theft of services against Adam K. Tinker, 18, of the 6400 block of East Golf Links Road.

Witnesses reported seeing Tinker "pound" on a meter three times, stopping when people would pass by on North Park Avenue and East Fourth Street. Tinker told police he paid for the two hours displayed on the meter.

A shuttle bus driver told police he saw Tinker try to remove a boot placed on the car's left front wheel. A parking and transportation spokesman said the boot, which Tinker reportedly damaged, was put on his car for several unpaid tickets.
