Phoenix will be in Tucson this weekend. The Phoenix Suns, that is.
In what will be one of the last exhibition games before the NBA opens up regular season play a week from today, Phoenix will play the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday afternoon at McKale Center.
The game will be produced as a Suns "home game." Every technical feature available at the America West Arena that can be incorporated into McKale Center will be evident. Even Phoenix's world-famous gorilla will be on hand.
Here is the team's 1994-95 lineup:
Head coach Paul Westphal: Begins his third season as an NBA head coach, all with the Suns ... Led the Suns to a 56-26 (.683) last season, and made it to the Western Conference semi-finals vs. Houston.
Danny Ainge: In five preseason games, is averaging 6.4 points and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 9-for-19 (.474) from the field and 10-for-11 (.909) from the line.
Charles Barkley: Has a strained lower abdominal muscle and is probable ... Vs. Magic on Monday, had 14 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes.
A.C. Green: In five preseason games, is averaging 10.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 20.0 minutes per game.
Kevin Johnson: Joined teammate Dan Majerle this summer on USA Basketball team that won Gold Medal at World Championships.
Joe Kleine: Vs. Magic on Monday, had 14 points (7-for-9 from the field) and six rebounds in 18 minutes.
Dan Majerle: In five preseason games, is averaging 12.8 points and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 25-for-53 (.472) from the field and 4-for-17 (.235) from three-point range.
Danny Manning: Begins his seventh NBA season, first with Suns ... Inked as an unrestricted free agent on Sept. 8 to a one-year contract.
Wayman Tisdale: Begins his 10th NBA season, first with the Suns ... Signed as an unrestricted free agent on Sept. 16 to a one-year contract.
Elliot Perry, Wesley Person, Danny Schayes, Aaron Swinson, Malcolm Mackey, Antonio Lang, Winston Garland and Anthony Goldwire round out the Suns' roster.
The exhibition game's tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
