Fire consumed a student's truck Friday near the Arizona Historical Society, near North Euclid Avenue and East University Boulevard.

The fire reportedly was caused by an electrical problem under the hood of the 1988 Ford F-150 truck, the fire investigator said.

The engine was heavily damaged and no monetary estimate was available.

An 18-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday for driving while intoxicated.

Police are seeking charges of minor operating a motor vehicle with liquor in body against Ezequiel Fontes, of the 3300 block of South Mission Road.

Fontes reportedly drove his car across three lanes of traffic and ran a red light while turning west on East Speedway Boulevard from North Campbell Avenue about 3 a.m.

Fontes told police he drank three beers in a hotel room and did not have a driver's license.

A university student may have stolen a $520 Parking and Transportation boot placed on his car shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot.

The boot and the silver Mitsubishi it was attached to were gone from the lot at 1221 E. Helen St. when Parking and Transportation officials came to check the vehicle about 3 p.m.

Attempts to contact the car's owner were unsuccessful.

About $450 in university-owned camera equipment was stolen from a Bio Sciences West laboratory.

Someone stole the Nikon 35 millimeter camera, lens and hood from a fifth floor laboratory table between 2 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Police have no suspects.
