Swimmer Gary Hall, a gold and silver medalist at the recently-completed World Championships in Rome, Italy, has decided not to attend Arizona.
Hall, 19, had transferred here to the UA after spending his freshman year at Texas.
He earned silver medals in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle and anchored the United States' 400m medley and freestyle relays to gold medals.
The U.S. Swimming Foundation awards cash prizes to swimmers earning medals at the World Championships and Hall has elected to accept the money and forgo his college eligibility.
