UA rugby team looking for new recruits near Union

The UA club rugby team is recruiting new players in front of the Student Union today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.

A team orientation will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. in McKale Center Room 109.

All undergraduate students are eligible, and no experience is necessary.

Over 1400 student-athletes have played for the rugby team since its inception 25 years. The Wildcats play in the prestigious Pacific Coast Collegiate Rugby Conference, which has produced the National Collegiate Champion in 12 of the past 14 years.

Throughout the course of the season, the team will compete in four invitational tournaments and will make three tournament appearances this fall alone.

ù Arizona will open the season at the High Desert Classic in Albuquerque Oct. 15-16.

ù It hosts the 20th Annual Michelob Rugby Classic in Tucson Nov. 11-13.

ù Finally, the Wildcats close the fall at the Las Vegas Invitational Dec. 3-4.

In the spring, the UA will host Texas in a non-conference matchup. It will be the Longhorns first trip to the state of Arizona.

The Wildcats will play in the California Invitational with Ohio State, Notre Dame and the host Bears. In addition, the UA will play its regular conference schedule.

It will complete the year with a tour of Wales and Spain in August of 1995.
