A freshman student was reported missing by his mother on Sunday. He had been missing for six days.

Parthenia Newell reported that her son Bryan Newell left his home in Irvine, Calif. with another student on August 14 around 7:30 a.m.

Newell reported that her son was supposed to reside in Cochise Hall. He had not checked in by the Residence Life no-show deadline Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Bryan Newell is an 18-year-old Caucasian with light brown hair. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds.

A 22-year-old was arrested Tuesday after nearly hitting a police officer with her car at 9th Street and Park Avenue.

Michelle L. Larsen of 2160 N. Ist Avenue was stopped after she made a wide turn across the center lane and nearly hit an officer that had stopped another vehicle.

Larsen was arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and a Buckeye Police Department misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear.

A man was arrested at Tucson Mall on Tuesday for a UA misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on possession of marijuana and drug paraphenalia charges.

Kenneth T. Martinez of 2252 E. Monterey Vista was stopped by the Tucson Mall security office and arrested when the warrant was confirmed.

When a UA police officer arrived at the scene to serve the warrant, he found a "green/brown vegetable looking substance" on Martinez. Additional charges were added.
