The Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society sponsors a lecture on "The First Tucsonans: Recent Excavations at Early Village Sites in the Middle Santa Cruz Valley" at 7:30 p.m. in the University Medical Center's DuVal Auditorium, 1501 N. Campbell.

KUAT hosts a vending sale, which will include clothing, gifts and organic products on the Mall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Poetry Center hosts an informal poetry reading and discussion with author David Lee, who will read and discuss his work in the Poetry Center courtyard at 2 p.m.

A writing workshop on "The Documented Essay: Organization, Works Cited, Checklist for Revision" is presented in Modern Languages Building Room 310 at 5 p.m.

The School of Music faculty presents "An Evening of Hungarian Chamber Music" at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8, $5 and $3 at the Fine Arts Box Office.

The Agricultural and Biosystems Department hosts a seminar on "A Mobile Lysimeter System for Water Use Measurements of Vegetable Crops" and "Irrigation System and Water Measurement Effects on Water and Nitrogen Use by Leaf Lettuce" in the Shantz Building Room 440 from noon to 1 p.m.

Craig Hogan of the University of Washington is the featured speaker at a theoretical astrophysics colloquium in the Steward Observatory Room N120 at 4 p.m.

Mortal Kombat is playing at Gallagher Theatre at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.
