Arizona forward Michael Dickerson has been suspended for one game for receiving illegal benefits from a booster, UA officials said.
Dickerson, a sophomore, must sit out the Wildcats' exhibition against the Mexican National Team on Nov. 12 in Tucson, according to a decision made public Tuesday. Neither Dickerson nor UA head coach Lute Olson could be reached for comment yesterday.
The university said it conducted its own investigation and forwarded its report to the NCAA, which imposed the one-game suspension. The school also said the suspension will not affect Dickerson's role when the Wildcats open their season Nov. 15 against Cal State-Long Beach.
Details of the incident that led to the suspension were not disclosed.
