Recital

Soprano Faye Robinson, accompanist Rex Woods and flautist Jean-Louis Kashy will give a recital today at 8 p.m. in Crowder Hall of the Music Building.

The recital, presented by the UA School of Music and Dance, includes works by J.S. Bach, Olivier Messiaen, Hugo Wolf, Jacqueline Hairston and R. Nathaniel Dett.

Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for UA employees and $3 for senior and students.

Language workshop

The UA Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) will host a workshop on the test of spoken english (TSE), the test of written english (TWE) and the test of english as a foreign language (TOEFL) on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Student Union Room 283 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The free workshop is designed for UA admission committee members, advisors, adminstrative staff and others needing to make informed decisions on international student score submissions.

Archaeology lecture

J. Wilson Myers, of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, will speak about the use of aerial photography in Minoan archaeology at 4 p.m. today in Franklin Building Room 201.

The lecture and slide show will examine tombs, settlements and palaces photographed by radio-controlled cameras suspended from tethered, unmanned balloons.

The talk is being sponsored by the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America.

Immigration discussion

Tucson immigration lawyer Roger Wolf will speak today from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union Tucson Room about issues of immigration law. Wolf will also answer questions on the topic.

The discussion is presented by ASUA Legal Services, 621-2782.
