'Mutato' offers slim opinions on music

Editor:

I would like to respond to the most current issues of Mutato featured on Thursdays in the Daily Wildcat. The utter disregard of any music genre other than rock/alternative/punk is truly narrow-minded. It shows total a lack of awareness on the part of your critics.

There has been hardly any mention of music in the fields of rap, hip hop, R&B, or tejano. These music genres have been emerging quite successfully over the past years, and have gained major audiences. Many people will agree when I say that recognition of such music styles is long overdue.

So before the next issue of Mutato is published please keep in mind that the Daily Wildcat reaches many audiences, and if you want to keep these audiences you need to expand your cultural awareness greatly.
