Keillor coming to town
Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Nov. 18 live nationwide broadcast of Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion from Tucson.
The tickets will be sold at Centennial Hall and at all Dillard's ticket outlets. Ticket prices are $36 and $26.
The two-hour broadcast will showcase talented Tucson performers as well as sound-effects wizard Tom Keith, keyboardist Rich Dworsky, Guy's All-Star Shoe Band, and Keillor's signature monologue, "The News from Lake Wobegon."
The Tucson performance will begin with a warm-up at 3:45 p.m. and the nationwide broadcast will start at 4 p.m.
Clinic dedication
The UA Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences will be dedicating the Grunewald-Blitz Clinic for Communication Disorders in Children Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The clinic, which has merged the hearing and speech/language clinics, is located in the lower level of the Speech and Hearing Sciences Building.
The $600,000 project was subsidized by UA alumna and Tucson businesswoman Abbey Grunewald as a memorial to her grandson, Nicolas Arthur Blitz.
State Superintendent of Public Instructon Lisa Graham will be the keynote speaker for the dedication.
Columbus Day rally
The Student Environmental Action Coalition's Southwest chapter is holding a rally and demonstration on the UA Mall today at noon.
The demonstration will demand that the UA follow the strongest cultural protection laws.
Law lecture
Warren B. Rudman will be this year's speaker at the UA College of Law's annual J. Byron McCormick Lecture, titled "The Politics of the Fiscal Crisis in America," tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Room 146 of the College of Law.

Music of Gershwin
The UA Faculty Recital Series presents "Clap Yo' Hands: The Songs of George Gershwin," tonight at 8 in the Music Building's Crowder Hall.
Tickets for the performance are $8 for adults, $5 for UA employees and $3 for seniors and students.
