Reliability, quality of work, initiative, disposition, longevity, adaptability and uniqueness of contribution are qualities that most employers look for in their employees.

They are also the qualities that a committee listed when it named communications senior Jill Lemna University of Arizona Student Employee of the Year.

As the marketing coordinator for the Department of Student Programs, Lemna has organized publicity campaigns, designed a logo policy and manages the market source boards in the Student Union and the Park Student Center.

Lemna, who works 24 hours per week, said working on the advertising program for Family Weekend and the department newsletter "Campus Connection" have been a couple of her favorite projects.

"I was very surprised (to be given the award). It was very important to me to know the people I worked for recognized my work," she said.

"I've never thought of Jill as a student, because she's so professional. She's just been invaluable in the marketing department," said Tatiana Hladky, an administrative assistant in Student Programs and Lemna's nominator for the award.

Lemna's name and the letters of recommendation used to select her were sent to a regional and state competition sponsored by the Western Association of Student Employee Administrators based in Utah.

Lemna received her award at a ceremony April 3.
