Five vehicles were reported stolen and another theft was attempted from various areas on campus was made over the weekend and Monday. Police are investigating.
A 1990 gray Chrysler Lebaron was stolen Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m from the parking garage at 1140 N. Park Ave.
Between 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday, a 1985 Toyota Corolla was stolen from the parking lot at East Helen Street and North Martin Avenue.
A student reported his 1986 Honda Elite 150 motor scooter was stolen from outside the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house, 1050 N. Cherry Ave. He said the last time he saw the scooter it was parked outside the house at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. He noticed it missing Monday morning.
A UA employee reported her rented 1994 Nissan Pathfinder was stolen between 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Monday from the parking lot at East First Street and North Martin Avenue.
The vehicle was recovered at an unknown location later in the afternoon by the Tucson Police Department. The employee told UAPD the rental car was, "in less than good condition."
Someone attempted to steal a 1993 Jeep Cherokee between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday from the parking lot at East Seventh Street and North Highland Avenue.
The owner said he secured the vehicle but when he returned the driver's side window was shattered and the steering column was broken off. The damage was estimated at $650.
Police have no suspects for any of the thefts.
