The UA men's club lacrosse team takes on Arizona State at 7 tonight at the Tucson High School football field in the team's second meeting this season.
UA won the first meeting 14-5 Feb. 11 in Tempe. The Laxcats are hoping for a similar outcome tonight.
Should the Laxcats (5-5) win this game, they will extend their win streak over the Sun Devils to 17 games, dating back to April 1991.
Under Mickey-Miles Felton, who has been the Arizona coach for 20 years, the UA currently holds an impressive 71-6 overall record against ASU.
The Laxcats' last loss came against the Poets of Whittier College last Saturday in Whittier, Calif.
Felton said the loss can be attributed to his team's "youth and inexperience."
The Laxcats suffered some disappointing injuries on the trip to California.
Dave Wilner and co-captain John Loring, both midfielders, were injured and will not play tonight.
However, all was not lost with an impressive performance from UA goalie Bill Steelman, who recorded an Arizona record 36 saves.
Scott Carlin, Bret Withey and Pete Hamilton all scored two goals in the loss.
Despite everything, Felton still approaches the season optimistically.
"We have not given up on the season," Felton said. "We will never give up. We are going to regroup and play with what we have and go from there."
